Computing Support
The Sociology Department provides computing support for sociology
faculty, staff, and graduate students. It also provides limited
support for the computing needs of sociology undergraduate students
in courses requiring special computing assignments using the Sociology
Computing Laboratory.

Virgil Martinez is the department's Computer Specialist overseeing the
day-to-day operations of computing support. Report problems with computer hardware,
software, viruses, and the computer lab to him to diagnose issues
and schedule corrective action.
Webmaster - Sumit Singh

Sumit Singh is the department's Webmaster and provides help in posting
documents to the department website. He also provides help with
department printers (e.g., printer cartridge replacements), email and virus problems, and general troubleshooting.

Sociology Computing Laboratory
The Sociology Computing Laboratory provides access to specialized computing
facilities maintained to support graduate instruction in sociology and
selected undergraduate instruction.

The lab facilities include approximately 18 computer workstations
equipped with standard office software (e.g., word processing,
spreadsheet, web browsing, e-mail, etc.), software for data management,
software for statistical and graphical analysis, GIS and mapping software,
and other specialized software supporting support sociological research.
The lab also provides access to a variety of printers, scanners, CD
burners, and other equipment useful in research and report writing.

The lab is open during business hours.
